Add Breakout Gradebook

Breakout Gradebooks can be used to keep different types of assignments in different places.  For example, if you teach a 5/6 combo you may want to keep the grades for each in separate areas.  Or you may want to breakout by English, Math, Science, etc.

Navigate to Manage Classes

  1.  Choose your class
  2. Click New Class

  1. Choose "Grade Book Breakout" under Class Type
  2. Choose your class as the parent class (important to make sure grades transfer automatically to your report card)
  3. Name your class for it's intended purpose, i.e. 6th grade math
  4. Hit Save


You will be back on the main page and now need to add students to the class
  1. Click the Students Tab
  2. Click the + next to each student who needs to be in this class
  3. They will show up in the right pane
  4. Hit Save when done

Return to the Grade Book


Choose your newly created breakout Gradebook


Your subset of students will show here and you can now add and grade assignments as normal.  At report card time grades will automatically transfer into the scores so long as you linked the new Gradebook to the parent class.
